Expedition Vinland is the next major scientific project of the Vittfarne organisation
The purpose is to support the construction of a suitable ship replica, built according to Viking age methods, and furthermore to use it following the trail of the Vinland explorers. The ship will sail and navigate from Sweden to Canada, according to the methods we believe were used during the Viking age. In this way, we will attempt to reconstruct the route of the Vinland explorers, as well as their means of travel. The project also includes thorough archeological surveys of interesting sites along the travel route in North America.
